Project Summary

Our team designed and implemented a Zone Selective Interlocking (ZSI) scheme utilizing high-speed IEC 61850 GOOSE messaging to coordinate protection between three feeder buses. The scope of work included:

• Designed and implemented a Zone Selective Interlocking (ZSI) scheme using high speed IEC 61850 GOOSE messaging for coordination between three (3) multiple feeder buses.
• Programmed all network switches and set up Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANS) to ensure communication between all relays.
• Programmed and performed functional testing on all relays to ensure proper operation of the ZSI scheme and the relay protection elements.
