Project Summary
Our team designed and commissioned a generator automation system to enable automatic transfer of a 4160V substation bus to standby power during utility outages. The scope of work included:
- Designed a generator automation system to automatically transfer a 4160V substation bus to standby power during utility outages utilizing an SEL-Axion.
- Performed detailed design services including the drafting of all required control and interconnection drawings for the generator automation system.
- Developed all the required SEL-Axion automation logic utilizing IEC 61131-3 continuous function chart (CFC) and structured text (ST) programming.
- Developed an HMI for the automation system to provide graphical representation of the substation circuit breakers, generator circuit breakers, and the metering information for the generators and utility supply.
- Constructed two (2) generator automation panels based on the detailed design drawings.
- Performed all construction services for the integration of the new generator automation panels into the existing system.
- Performed complete commissioning and functional testing of the system.
