Hawaii – Innergex Hale Kuawehi Solar and BESS Project

Project Summary

As part of a large-scale renewable energy integration project, our team provided electrical commissioning management and technical support services to ensure the successful integration of the project with the local utility. The scope of work included:

• Reviewed electrical design drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Reviewed electrical equipment installations and ensured compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Reviewed electrical equipment testing plans to ensure compliance with applicable testing standards and industry best practices (NETA, IEEE, etc.).
• Managed electrical equipment testing and analyze testing results to determine acceptance of equipment as per applicable industry testing standards and manufacturer acceptance criteria.
• Monitored site progress and schedule to support coordination with third parties for commissioning activities including the local utility (HECO).
• Provided commissioning support to third party testing groups on an ongoing basis.
• Ensured critical deficiencies were noted in a timely manner and determined corrective actions.
• Managed and ensured the integration of the various electrical power and control systems (solar, battery storage, utility tie substation).
