Confederation College – Short Circuit and Protective Device Coordination Study

Project Summary

Our team performed a short circuit and protective device coordination study in accordance with applicable codes, protection standards, and industry best practices. The scope of work included:

• Performed a short circuit and protective device coordination study in accordance with the applicable IEEE standards utilizing ETAP electrical power system analysis software.
• Performed a site wide electrical system audit to gather the required information to develop a detailed impedance model of the system down to the 120/208V level.
• Provided a detailed report analyzing the capabilities of the proposed and existing electrical systems to withstand and interrupt the available fault currents contributed from the utility, local generations, and motors.
• Provided a detailed report analyzing the proposed and existing electrical system protective device coordination including recommendations to improve coordination between devices.
