Offset Zone Project – Lac Des Iles Mine

Project Summary

Our team provided complete commissioning and start-up services for the 120 kV–13.8 kV substation at Lac Des Iles Mine. This included the design and configuration of a transformer paralleling scheme with on-load tap changer control, as well as power quality analysis to ensure compliance with industry standards. The scope of work included:

• Provided commissioning and start‐up services for the entire 120kV‐13.8kV substation.
• Designed and configured a transformer paralleling scheme with incorporation of the transformer on‐load tap changers using the delta-VAR method for tap position mismatch and operating criteria.
• Completed a Harmonic analysis for the asynchronous hoist drive to ensure compliance with IEEE 519.
