Goldcorp Musselwhite Mine – Generator Substation Commissioning

Project Summary

Our team delivered end-to-end services for a generator substation upgrade project, supplying key medium-voltage equipment and executing protection system modifications to support reliable feeder transfer operations. The project included the procurement and installation of step-up transformers, grounding equipment, manual transfer switches, and protection relays. These efforts were followed by comprehensive field commissioning and full system validation to ensure safe and dependable performance. The scope of work included:

• Supplied two (2) 3.75/5 MVA 4.16kV‐ 13.8kV step‐up transformers.
• Supplied neutral grounding resistors and related ground fault and continuity protection.
• Supplied two (2) 13.8kV manual transfer switches.
• Supplied protection relays and accessories for modification of the existing feeder circuit breakers for transfer protection.
• Modified the circuit breaker protection and commissioned the installation.
• Provided commissioning services for the outdoor substation, including transformers, switches, cables, etc.
• Performed high voltage phasing to ensure proper phase rotation on the alternate feeders for the 13.8kV transfer switches.
