Location: Prince Township, Ontario
Customer: Evolugen
Project Summary
Our team completed testing of a variety of electrical equipment along with advanced substation grounding testing. The scope of work included:
- Performed comprehensive preventative maintenance activities across three 230 kV substations (Prince #1, Prince #2, and Heyden), which included servicing:
- Four (4) 230 kV motorized disconnect switches
- Three (3) 260 kV SF₆ circuit breakers
- Eight (8) 72.5 kV SF₆ circuit breakers
- Three (3) 230 kV wave traps
- Nine (9) 230 kV capacitive coupled voltage transformers (CCVTs)
- Two (2) 60 MVA 240 kV / 34.5 kV power transformers
- Twenty (20) 34.5 kV disconnect switches
- Nine (9) 34.5 kV grounding transformers
- Two (2) 34.5 kV circuit switchers
- Two (2) untuned capacitor banks
- Forty-five (45) surge arresters
- Conducted Fall-of-Potential (FOP) testing and step-and-touch potential measurements at all three substations via overhead fault current injection utilizing the 230kV line with an Omicron CPC 100 and CP CU1.
